3 Days / 2 Nights Lake Natron & Ol Doinyo Lengai Adventure

For fit, experienced hikers: two nights at Lake Natron with a night ascent of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the active volcano Maasai call the 'Mountain of God'.

The climb is steep, on loose volcanic ash, usually starting around midnight to avoid the heat. It is a demanding specialist activity: we assess fitness, weather and current volcanic conditions separately, and it can be cancelled for safety. Non-climbers can enjoy the waterfall and lake walks instead.

Optional extension: continue to the northern Serengeti via Loliondo after Lake Natron (route and permits confirmed at quotation).
