    Arrival planning

    Which airport should you use?

The best arrival point depends on your first destination, available tickets and whether Zanzibar or southern Tanzania is part of your trip. An airport name here does not imply a direct flight from your origin.

    DAR

    Reach remote parks by air

Scheduled flights sell seats on published services; private charter arrangements are separately quoted and depend on aircraft, routing, permits and availability. Some operators offer both. The service label below describes the provider's general offer, not a confirmed route for your dates. Confirm the actual operator, airstrip, timetable, transfer arrangement and baggage allowance before purchase.

    Light-aircraft baggage

    • • Weight and bag-dimension limits vary by operator and aircraft.
    • • Soft-sided luggage may be required on small aircraft; confirm with the carrier.
    • • Include camera equipment and hand luggage when checking the total allowance.
    • • Do not rely on a generic baggage figure—use the current booking terms for your exact flight.

    Combining safari and Zanzibar

A common trip structure is to arrive near the Northern Circuit, safari by road or light aircraft, then travel to Zanzibar for a beach stay. The best order depends on international tickets, current domestic schedules, luggage rules and your confirmed safari route.
